Massage Therapy Curriculum A through B
AIDS Education
Massage therapy is a very safe occupation. Knowledge of mechanisms of disease transmission and identification of signs of infectious disease will be taught. Proper procedures for prevention are included.
Alternative Treatment Modalities
This program is provided to introduce the student to ten of the most popular and effective alternative treatment modalities that can supplement their client’s care. The student will gain a foundational understanding of: Polarity, Trager, Rolfing, Aromatherapy, Thai Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Touch for Health, Shiatsu, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, and Energy Healing. These classes are presented within the Swedish/Deep Tissue course.
Anatomy and Physiology of Systems
This class explores the structure and function of the human body in a system-by-system approach. In addition to learning the basic information, emphasis is placed upon clinical and applied information relevant to the massage therapist.
Body/Mind Connection
Massage therapy directly affects the physical body and indirectly alters the client’s well-being. Classes will explore the interconnections between ways the body can affect the mind and how the mind can create wellness or disease. These classes are presented within the Swedish/Deep Tissue course.
Business Mastery
Massage, aside from being a healing art, is a business. In this critically important class, the student will be prepared to become a self-employed businessperson. The student will learn the steps and mental attitude necessary to become a successful entrepreneur. We prepare the student for the “business of massage.” As we like to say, "It's one thing to learn to give a massage, it's another to learn how to make a career giving massages."
